Brain Perfusion

 

A Philips exclusive, the Brilliance Workspace brain perfusion software calculates and displays reduced CBF and reduced CBF & CBV. These maps correspond to areas of potential infarct and potential penumbra of an impending stroke.

 

Features and Benefits

  • Displays penumbra/infarct maps, which may distinguish between still-viable and non-viable infracted tissue
  • Quantitative color maps of cerebral blood flow (CBF), cerebral blood volume (CBV), mean transit time (MTT) and time-to-peak (TTP) provide valuable clinical information to assist in treatment planning
  • Allows the clinician to make reasonably accurate predictions in individual patients about which brain tissue will clinically improve with reperfusion therapy
