Latex Labeling on Supplies

Medical Supplies currently distributes over 500 products of which less than 9% contain natural rubber latex or dry natural rubber that could contact humans. Because these substances may cause allergic reactions, products that contain them are identified with the Latex symbol and include the following statement:

Caution: Products that are identified with (the latex symbol) contain dry natural rubber or natural rubber latex that can come into contact with humans and may cause allergic reactions.

Latex Symbol Supplies that contain latex will display this symbol

No Latex symbol Supplies that do NOT contain latex will display this symbol

To the best of our knowledge, products not identified with the Latex symbol are not known to contain natural rubber latex or dry natural rubber.  The latex symbol indicates only which medical supplies contain natural rubber latex or dry natural rubber that can come into contact with humans and may cause allergic reactions.  If you want to know whether a Philips medical device contains natural rubber latex or dry natural rubber, refer to the product labeling.

The FDA requires that products be labeled with human contacting latex content information when appropriate. Always refer to product labeling for accurate information on human contacting dry natural runnber or natural rubber latex.
