ECG Clues to Identify the Site of Occlusion in Acute  Myocardial Ischemia/Infarction

This presentation discusses the value of ST depression and ST elevation in helping to better localize the acutely ischemic/infracted region and predict the site of occlusion within the involved coronary artery. The overall goal is to recognize clues in the ECG that will shorten the interval from discovery to treatment and improve patient outcome.

Distinguished Professor of Cardiology

1:15 – 1:45pm

The Power of Capnography to Guide Respiratory Care

Capnography can provide valuable, immediate information to help you care for your patients in respiratory distress. This presentation looks at waveform morphology for common respiratory disease states and how to use this information to guide decisions, indicate effectiveness of treatment, and optimize patient care.

How Do You Know CPAP is Working?

Capnography can provide the closed loop you need to have confidence that you are adequately ventilating your patient. This presentation covers how to use capnography to make the right respiratory care decisions during CPAP use.

Therapeutic Hypothermia in EMS

Protocols are emerging that specify post cardiac arrest cooling in the ambulance.  This presentation examines one EMS service’s protocol and describes how you might start cooling in the field, monitor patient progress, and hand-off to the hospital.
